Some of our favourites along with our family review are below.
Vietnam – Green Onion Cake ( 1 green onion cake – 4 tickets) – fried green onion cake
We do love the food from the Vietnam pavilion like this very tasty Green Onion Cake. It is all you want in a green onion cake! This is a must have!
Bosnia & Hercegovina – Bosnian Coffee (4 0z – 3 tickets) – coffee
If you are a fan of Armenian or Arabic coffee, you need to come and try the Bosnian Coffee! The coffee is served in a nice pot, along with a ceramic cup, sugar cube and some loukhoum, Plus they have a nice quite area with a few tables to enjoy it away from hustle and bustle outside.
Iraq – Datly (4 pieces – 4 tickets) – pastry dipped in honey
Well not everyone in the family loves these delicious fried dough morsels dipped in a honey syrup, but if you like your fried dough these are a must try!
India – Samosa (1 piece – 3 tickets) – dough filled with potatoes, green peas, cumin, coriander and herbs
There is always room for a samosa! These will not disappoint, very traditional with the potato and peas, along with the cumin and coriander seeds.
India – Pakoras (4 piece – 5 tickets) – deep fried fritter made with chick pea flour
These are nice crisp fritters that seemed to disappear very quickly so no photo was taken!
Romania – Scovergi (1 ginormous piece – 6 tickets) – deep fried dough with icing sugar
These are a very popular item with variations at many pavilions. We find the ones at the Romanian pavilion to be very good. They have a separate line devoted to the Scovergi or Elephant Ears due to their popularity. These are a yeasted dough that are shaped into large flat shapes, deep fried and dusted generously with icing sugar. Again, this one started to be devoured before a photo! These are perfect for sharing.
